フィリピン国バコロド市のリ・コール幼稚園と坂越学園との姉妹園提携10周年を記念し、2024年8月にNIKSスタッフを中心に、リ・コール幼稚園へ訪問いたしました。

新型コロナウイルス感染症を機に直接的な交流をなかなか持つことができませんでしたが、10周年という記念となる年に交流を持つことができました。

以下は訪問したNIKSスタッフによるフィリピン訪問についてのレポートです。

フィリピン訪問を終えて

坂越アカデミーとリコール幼稚園が姉妹園提携をして10年目という記念の年に、再びリコール幼稚園とシライの両方を訪れることができ嬉しく思います。
この10年間に、何度かのTeacher exchange programとZoomなどの交流を積み重ねてきたこともあり、互いにとても良い関係を築けてきたということを真に感じました。
そして、フィリピンの先生方の歓迎ぶりはすごく手厚く、感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。

Workshopでは、フィリピンの先生方が本当に熱心に参加してくださり、日本の手遊びやひらがなの歌、ダンスを楽しく学んでくださいました。
また、日本の伝統的なわらべ歌を通して身体でリズムを感じながら親しむことができていたように思います。
自身が楽しむという感覚を持っておられたので、ぜひ保育に取り入れ、子どもたちと楽しく活動してもらえたらと思います。
そしてzoomの際には、日本の子ども達と一緒に楽しみたいものです。

今回はフィリピンの記念日の週に訪問したということもあり、様々な文化に触れる機会も設けてくださいました。記念日に食べる食事や、活動ではバンブーダンスにチャレンジしたり、民族衣装を着て、先生方と一緒に踊ったりと楽しく過ごすことができました。
シライでは保護者の方もThank youと沢山声をかけてくださいました。
異なる言語と文化を背景に持つ外国人との交流、そして異文化体験をすることで相手を理解し他者を思いやることができるのだと思います。
その輪が広がっていることを身近で感じました。
子どもたちにも引き続きこのことを伝えながら、国際理解教育が広がるようにしていきたいと思います。

私自身は、前回よりもコミュニケーションをとることはできましたが、まだまだ英語力には欠けるので、今まで以上に学んでいきたいと思います。
そして、この交流会で子どもたちにとって、何が出来るのかということを常に考え、提案していけたらと思います。

After visiting the Philippines

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the sister school partnership between SaKakoshi Academy and L’Ecole Kindergarten.
I am happy that I was able to visit both L’Ecole Kindergarten and Silay again.
Over the past 10 years, we have had several teacher exchange programs, zoom meetings, and other exchanges.
I truly felt that we had built a very good relationship with each other.
Also, the teachers in the Philippines have been very welcoming to me, and I am filled with gratitude.

At the workshop, Filipino teachers participated with great enthusiasm.
They had fun learning Japanese hand games, Hiragana songs, and dances.
In addition, they got familiar with the rhythm while feeling it with their body through traditional Japanese children's songs.
I think they were able to do it.
Since they had a sense of having fun themselves, I would definitely like to incorporate this into their childcare.
I hope they enjoy working with the children.
And when I do zoom, I want to have fun with the Japanese children.

This time I visited the Philippines during Memorial Day （Arow ng Lahi）week,
so I got to experience various cultures.
This also gave me an opportunity to experience Filipino culture like its traditional dance, cuisine, and other fun activities.
We had fun by taking on challenges, wearing ethnic costumes, and dancing with the Filipino teachers.

At Silay, many parents said thank you.
By interacting with foreigners with different language and culture backgrounds and experiencing their different cultures, I believe that you can understand others and be considerate of them.
I felt close to home that the circle was expanding.
We will continue to convey this to our children and help spread education for international understanding.

Although I was able to communicate better than last time, my English skills are still lacking, so I would like to learn more than ever. And I always think about what I can do for the children at this exchange meeting, I would like to make some more suggestions and ideas to the Filipino teachers for our upcoming activities.
